February 21, 2011 Christchurch, New Zealand. A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck a city that I thought had good infrastructure and construction of buildings. To witness buildings collapse in front of me, view a city of dust and rubble, and still to this day talk to friends and family who still feel anxious when an aftershock occurs (yes 6 years later) makes me realise how an earthquake can affect people.
January 12, 2010, Port Au Prince, Haiti. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck, taking hundreds of thousands of lives, homes and to this day (6 years later) still over 60,000 homeless. Why?
